Senior Principal, Senior Practice Area Director of Critical Facilities & MENA
James Coe is Syska Hennessy Group’s Critical Facilities Director and a Senior Principal. He leads a team of more than 150 professionals located throughout Syska’s 20 global offices, providing critical-facility design, consulting, and commissioning. James is currently focused on international data center design and commissioning.
James joined Syska as a Vice President and Southeast Operations Manager in 2006. He has over 35 years of experience in engineering operations, project management and design. He provides consulting, design, reliability assessments and commissioning for mission critical facilities for clients such as AT&T, Chevron, Cisco, Cleveland Clinic, Core 42, DAMAC, Du/EITC, Duke Energy, General Electric, General Motors, IBM, Khazna, Oracle, Stack, Truist, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Navy.
James is a member of the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) and the 7×24 Exchange. He is also an Uptime Institute (TUI) Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) and was a keynote speaker at the 7×24 Exchange 2025 Spring Conference.
He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. James is a Professional Engineer (PE) registered in 41 states as well as a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
James has previously served in the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Engineer and Surface Warfare Officer. With Syska, he sponsors the Atlanta Area Boy Scout Eagle Scout Recognition each year. James is an Instrument-Related Private Pilot and participates in shooting sports in his free time.
