Darren Alfano, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer of Syska Hennessy, based at the firm’s New York City headquarters. A seasoned financial executive, he has over 30 years of experience spanning financial management, accounting, analysis, and controllership.
Prior to joining Syska Hennessy, Darren served as Chief Financial Officer for both a leading telecommunications equipment distributor and a building technology firm, each headquartered in Long Island City, New York. His earlier experience includes serving as Managing Director of a financial consulting firm and as Senior Vice President and Global Controller at a large technology communications company in Jersey City, New Jersey. Across these roles, he has consistently led transformative business initiatives, strengthened financial operations, and delivered results in complex, fast-moving industries.
Darren holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Binghamton University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in New York State, further underscoring his professional expertise and commitment to the highest standards of practice.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Darren serves as Treasurer and executive committee member of the board of Life’s WORC, a nonprofit providing critical support and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New York City and Long Island. He is also Treasurer and Board Member of the Village of Four Seasons, a Pennsylvania housing community, and Co-Chair of the ACEC Finance Committee.
Outside of work, he is an avid skier and tennis player, pursuing the same spirit of challenge and enjoyment that has shaped both his professional and personal journey.
