Cultural
Libraries, museums, and performing arts venues enrich communities, but they are expensive to own and operate. Energy-efficient systems can reduce costs while enhancing the comfort of visitors, staff, and performers. Syska has extensive experience in the design of these systems, starting nearly a century ago with The Frick Collection –the world’s first fully air-conditioned museum.
Our consulting, design, and commissioning work for cultural institutions includes a wide variety of services, such as MEP and fire protection engineering, energy and daylight modeling, stormwater management, audiovisual and IT systems, building system controls, architectural lighting, and security systems. These services have not only enhanced the user experience; they have also led to LEED certifications and other important recognitions for energy efficiency.
