Aviation
Travelers visiting some of the world’s busiest airports find their experiences to be far less stressful than they expected. These surprisingly pleasant experiences stem from the efforts of airport owners to create comfortable, relaxing, and streamlined terminals and amenities – efforts in which Syska plays an important role. We have designed core building systems in more than 20 million square feet of aviation facilities in recent years, for projects large and small. Our projects span new terminals, renovations, first- and business-class lounges, ground transportation facilities, and concessions. You can see the results of our work at airports such as John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, Washington Dulles, Greenville-Spartanburg, Los Angeles, Long Beach, John Wayne in Orange County, and San Diego, among many others.
The systems we design encompass MEP, fire protection, telecommunications, security, audiovisual, vertical transportation, architectural lighting and building management controls. These systems improve building performance while delivering thermal comfort, safety, and energy efficiency. Flexibility is not only a hallmark of such systems; it also characterizes our approach to delivery methods: We offer design-bid-build, design-build, P3, and construction manager at risk. By combining flexibility and industry-specific expertise, we have enjoyed long-term relationships with owners of leading airport facilities, and we are proud that our partnerships have enhanced the experience of the millions of passengers who travel through them.
