Project Overview

Hoehn Motors Porsche New Service Building, Carlsbad, California

Syska Hennessy worked with Hoehn Motors, a family-owned car business with 12 dealerships, to design a new 40,000 sf, three-story service building to support the growth of their Porsche Car Dealership in Carlsbad. To fully coordinate the building during the entire design process, Syska used the latest version of Revit. All engineering elements incorporated the latest in energy-saving design.

Because Porsche’s design standards are different than other car dealerships, design options were restricted. The high ceilings that were required, as well as the need to maximize parking spaces, led the team to decide on a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system to minimize ductwork and save space for the stored cars on the parking levels.

Syska Hennessy also provided commissioning services for the VRF system and multiple exhaust fans serving the garage, storage, and service areas, as well as the electrical and lighting systems, to deliver fully functional systems to Hoehn Motors.
