Industrial
For many decades, Syska has designed and engineered systems at industrial properties, which constitute one of the strongest asset classes in today’s real estate market. We’ve worked on new, large-scale facilities, maintenance of existing facilities, upgrades, and conversions. The uses vary: They include warehouses, car dealerships, cleanrooms, and centers for battery recycling, steam processing, and food processing. But our goal for each is the same – to design systems that are functional, flexible, and sustainable.
We welcome complexity: Several of our most notable projects have achieved net-zero energy consumption, earning LEED Platinum and similar certifications. We have also designed new systems for the adaptive reuse of historic buildings to accommodate light industrial uses. In these cases we integrate the new with the old while promoting energy-efficiency through techniques like demand-control ventilation, energy recovery, and daylighting, among others.
