Convention Centers &
Sports
Starting in the 1960s, when we designed the MEP systems for Madison Square Garden and the Mets’ Shea Stadium, we’ve been helping cities and universities build convention centers and stadiums that boost local economies and drive tourism. These facilities require systems that are sufficiently flexible to accommodate significant swings in activity and occupancy levels. But that’s not all: They must also support experiences that entice visitors to events without sacrificing energy efficiency.
Syska helps owners achieve this delicate balance. Our designs encompass HVAC, lighting systems, and security systems that are easy to adjust according to occupancy and event type; and energy solutions that take wind, water, air, and light conditions into account, leading to LEED certifications and/or financial incentives from utilities. Another area of expertise is mobile connectivity, which encourages engagement from event attendees who wish to share their experience on social media.
