It is with heavy hearts that we remember and honor Michael Adebanjo, whose dedication, brilliance, and tireless work ethic left an indelible mark on all of us. As a mechanical engineer, project manager, and leader of the Los Angeles office at Syska Hennessy Group, Michael was more than just a colleague—he was the backbone of our LA team, a mentor, and a friend.

Michael graduated from Loyola Marymount University, earning both his Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering—a true testament to his commitment to learning and excellence. Throughout his career, his expertise shone in every project he touched. He partnered with some of the most respected clients in our industry—including CBRE, Coretrust, JPMC, and Morgan Stanley—earning their trust through his integrity and skill. His vision helped shape the skyline of Los Angeles, with his work forever etched into landmarks such as the LA Federal Courthouse, the Hall of Justice, and the Capitol Records building.

Michael’s legacy is not only in the buildings that stand tall across our city, but also in the relationships he built and the inspiration he gave. He approached every challenge with determination and every opportunity with humility. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering support brightened our workplace and strengthened our team.

It is especially poignant to remember that Michael was a key leader in our Los Angeles office—a reflection of the trust, respect, and admiration he earned from us all. His vision for our team and our city was one we eagerly looked forward to realizing together.

Beyond his impressive career, Michael was full of life and joy. He loved music and often DJ’d our holiday parties, filling the room with energy and fun. He had a fondness for Chick-fil-A and delighted in surprising the office with breakfast, reminding us to savor life’s simple pleasures. His passions for photography and his beloved, custom Honda reflected his unique personality and love for detail.

As we say goodbye, let us honor Michael by carrying forward his spirit of dedication, kindness, and joy. May his memory continue to guide us, and may we find comfort in knowing that his contributions—both professional and personal—will endure for generations to come.

Details on honoring Michael’s memory are shared in his obituary.
